My Fav Anime/Manga

The list of anime/manga I'm watching at the moment:

Claymore
Darker Than Black
Nodame Cantabile
Devil May Cry
Lovely Complex
Bleach
Naruto

the rest, are not worth mentioning.

For laughs, watch Nodame Cantabile or Lovely Complex. THey are hilarious.
Nodame Cantabile revolves around Chiaki, a conductor wannabe and Nodame, a dirty, messy piano student.
I'm still amazed that a manga artist can think up of a storyline that can make classical music so cool and hip. Banzai!

As for Lovely Complex, it revolves around 2 high sch students, a tall giraffe and a midget. Now happen the giraffe fell in love with the midget and oh, it touches my heart so to see the giraffe tries so hard to win the midget.
Wish I can be as brave as her. I sympathize with her.

Nevertheless, I am waiting for my collection of Nodame Cantabile and xxxHolic from Japan XD
Frankly, I don't mind buying them in japanese and slowly re-reading and translating them on my own. Esp xxxHolic manga. They are beautiful.

Are you hangry?

Some interesting words I found:

thirdhand smoke: Used to refer to residual tobacco smoke contamination that lingers after a cigarette is extinguished.

Now you know those bloody idiots produce firsthand smoke, secondhand smoke and thirdhand smoke.

hangry: describes a person suffering from hunger-induced crankiness.

Mosquitoes

How many of you love mosquitoes sucking your blood? Seldom are people immune to their saliva eh? (My cousin is one such lucky fella)

I bet most of you have itchy red swollen mosquito bites all over your body and are dying to kill em.

Have you ever wonder whether we are hastening evolution on the mosquitoes? We weed out the mosquitoes, try our best to kill it, spray them with insecticide, and still, there are millions of them. I'm very sure we are breeding a highly adapting mosquito species soon since

1. we are too tired to kill the mosquitoes deep in our sleep.
2. we can't detect those silent killers.
3. it is very hard to kill fast moving mosquitoes.

And end up we're breeding, silent, fast assassins that attack you in the night -_-

My first Foccacia bread

I have a breadmaker at home which was collecting dust.
Impromptu decision led me to bake last night after work.

I had bought Prima's foccacia bread mix (costs $2.81 and it includes all the dried herbs everything) and I must say it tastes good enough.

All I need, to make a loaf of bread is the mix, water and olive oil.
Dump all the ingredients into the breadmaker, and wah la! you are done with your part.

Actually, when I poured the ingredients into it, I was tempted to stir and mix it myself - i did that a bit and decided to let the machine do it. I miss the fun of rolling out the dough and beating it.

I'm sure lotsa women might find it fun to destress ;)

Normally, a breadmaker comes with different settings catered for cakes, different kinds of bread even making jam!

The manual recommended to use either Basic or Quick settings and greedy impatient me, decided to go for the quick setting. UNFORTUNATELY, it is not enough -_-. Should have set it to basics.

What's the difference? Basic will take you 3 hours to knead the dough and bake it.
Quick will take you just 2hr 20mins which is NOT ENOUGH.

When the bread came out, it did smelt good and I meant really good, but when I open up the bread, some parts of the bread weren't so cooked - was still kinda damp dough you know what i mean? Fortunately, that was a little bit of it.

Due to my greediness, the bread was cut and devoured before I have the sense to snap a picture of it :p

Oh ya, by the time it was ready, it was around 1030pm and it tastes good with thick creamy English soup yum!

I think that going through the whole process of baking is fun. Nevertheless, if you are hardup for time, wanting to eat fresh bread every morning, then a breadmaker is just for you. I should add that you can set a delay time so when you wake up, your bread's just ready.

It'll not be the first time I baked again - I'll be back with the pictures the next time!

Cheerios

ps: One big flaw - the breadmaker's program sucks. You can't just skip the knead process and go straight to the baking process. So can't continue to bake. My suggestion? Use the toaster oven.

One of the Choices

Gecko Lodge
A 10 minutes walk away from the beach, it costs AUS $25 to stay in a 4 mixed dorm.

FrogsHollow Lodge
Situated in the city area.

Banyan View Lodge
Accomodations seem good. I like their mini dorms - range from $20 to $25 depending on fanned or air-conned rooms.

I personally like to stay in a dorm of around 4 ppl :) I think a dorm of 6 to 8 ppl would have been kinda noisy and crowded.

To get visa or eta?

Good day mates,

*ARGHHHH* I HAVE TO PAY AUS $70 for a Tourist visa to Australia!

Well, let me tell you a little secret, *you can pay as little as AUS $20*

Let me introduce to you, ETA.
ETA stands for Electronic Travel Authority and is your cheap option to the Tourist Visa.

ETA allows you to go for holiday or business trip within 3 MONTHS and all you got to do is pay a service charge of $20. How's that for a deal?
Go to ETA's website and register online for ETA.

Some info from ZZ's aunt

ZZ got a quote from the travel agency her aunt works at:
JetstarAsia + Hotel + 1 full day city tour* (01 Feb to 05 Feb) -- $680
*includes hotspring, market visit and maybe museum

They gave a choice of 5 hotels:
1) City Hotel
2) Paradise**
3) Kilin
4) Chengdu**
5) Rosemary
** these 2 are recommended cos they are near ximending

Just checked Jetstar webbie and the tics for 1-5 Feb cost $408 so that means the hotel + city tour cost (680 - 408) = $272 or $68/day... will get more details on what is included for the city tour and whether we can have our own choice of hotel if lets say u guys have a particular one in mind...

Hmmz anyway the Jetstar tics seem to be $37 cheaper for flights on Tue and Wed... thats why 31st Jan (Wed) is cheaper than 01 Feb (Thu)... likewise if we come back on 06 Feb (Tue) the tics will also be slightly cheaper.. heh heh

JetstarAsia - $371.00 nett (01 Feb to 05 Feb)

Yet to search on: Eva Airline, China Airline,..

+ + + + + + +
Hey guys, I realized something.

The tickets will be cheaper if we go on a 31Jan-5Feb trip. It will cost a bit more if we travel from 1Feb-5Feb.

Advantage: You pay just a little bit more for an extra day in tw.
Disadvantage: You need to take one more day leave.

My opinion: I personally like the idea of extending a night there.

so, What do you think?

Where, where, where

Between, please research abit, state which hotel you want to stay (with pics of cos and the link), where you want to go (I know u ladies out there definitely must reserve a day for shopping), what you want to eat etc etc.

For me, if I want to go, I would like to go to the Theme park XD The one that KH went - the exciting one.

How bout u?

For all programmers out there

Software Development Cycle

1. Programmer produces code he believes is bug-free.
2. Product is tested. 20 bugs are found.
3. Programmer fixes 10 of the bugs and explains to the testing department that the other 10 aren't really bugs.
4. Testing department finds that five of the fixes didn't work and discovers 15 new bugs.
5. Repeat three times steps 3 and 4.
6. Due to marketing pressure and an extremely premature product announcement based on overly-optimistic programming schedule, the product is released.
7. Users find 137 new bugs.
8. Original programmer, having cashed his royalty check, is nowhere to be found.
9. Newly-assembled programming team fixes almost all of the 137 bugs, but introduce 456 new ones.
10. Original programmer sends underpaid testing department a postcard from Fiji. Entire testing department quits.
11. Company is bought in a hostile takeover by competitor using profits from their latest release, which had 783 bugs.
12. New CEO is brought in by board of directors. He hires a programmer to redo program from scratch.
13. Programmer produces code he believes is bug-free...
