travel insurance..

okie.. i think we have overlooked one portion.. travel insurance.. this is optional but i thought it's better to get insured... in case.. :x

after scanning info from the forums, i found most ppl either sign up with NTUC or AIG.. NTUC is cheaper and costs about S$47-S$50 for 2 people. AIG Classic travel insurance will cost $27 per person. One reason for the difference in cost is that AIG offers (much) higher claims and more coverage than NTUC does.

I couldn't find the ntuc travel insurance policy info online. But i have a quote from a forum:

Hi, I would strongly encourage you all to buy travel insurance in case anything happen! And I would recommend AIG instead of NTUC because NTUC don't pay for any additional expenses for trip curtailment & also there is an excess of $40 for each person. That means the first $40 cannot be claimed. I did a claim for my client and she could only claimed for $131!! I told her to get AIG but she refuse because of higher premiums.

But if she were too get an AIG, she could have claim $289.60 (additional cost for changing of airfares) + $291 (unutilised airport transfer & hotel stay)= $580.60!! Pls feel free to PM me if you all need any other info!
